Yes. Even in summer, a lightweight bodysuit or wrap bodysuit made from a breathable natural material is the ideal first layer of clothing. Depending on the temperature, this layer is often all that is needed.

It should fit softly, not restrict your baby, and keep them from getting cold or sweaty. A good indicator is the back of the neck: it should feel pleasantly warm, but not damp.

On cooler days, add a warm layer made of fine knit, organic sweatshirt fabric, or cotton fleece. In windy or cold weather, an outer layer such as a boiled-wool overall or boiled-wool jacket provides additional protection.
