Frequently asked questions about autumn and winter products
Are your winter items made in Berlin?
Yes. All garments are made with great care in our Berlin workshop. We use high-quality natural materials and timeless cuts to create durable favorite pieces for many winters.
What should I dress my baby in during autumn?
In autumn, the layering principle comes into its own. A breathable base layer, a lightweight insulating layer, and—when it’s windy or rainy—an outer layer made of boiled wool can be combined flexibly.
Which materials are suitable for autumn and winter?
Cashmere blends, organic sweatshirt fabric, cotton fleece, and boiled wool complement each other perfectly in a layered look. They keep you warm, remain breathable, and can be combined flexibly.
How can I tell whether my baby is too warm or too cold?
The most reliable way to check the temperature is at the back of the neck. It should feel comfortably warm, but not damp. Cold hands or feet, on the other hand, are not a reliable indication. (kindergesundheit-info.de)
What should my baby wear in the stroller in winter?
Your baby moves less in a stroller and therefore usually needs a little more warmth than when walking or playing. The layering principle allows you to adjust their clothing flexibly.
Is boiled wool windproof?
Boiled wool is highly wind-resistant and reliably protects against cold winds. At the same time, the material remains breathable and ensures a comfortable body climate.
What kind of hat does my baby need in winter?
On cold days, a balaclava is particularly suitable because it protects the head, ears, neck, and nape of the neck at the same time and stays in place while playing.
What does my baby wear under a boiled-wool coverall?
Directly against the skin, we recommend a loop bodysuit or baby bodysuit made from a temperature-regulating natural material. Depending on the outside temperature, a cozy suit made from organic sweatshirt fabric or a fine-knit overall can be added as a warm layer.
Is boiled wool warm enough for winter?
Yes. Combined with a suitable base layer and warm layer, boiled wool is ideal for autumn and winter. For very cold days, we recommend our winter boiled-wool coverall with teddy lining.
Why is layering better than a thick jacket?
Several thin layers of clothing can be flexibly adapted to changing temperatures. This allows excess heat to escape more effectively and keeps your baby at a more comfortable temperature.
What does a baby wear in winter?
In winter, we recommend a base layer directly against the skin, a warming mid-layer over it, and a boiled-wool one-piece or boiled-wool jacket as the outer layer. This keeps your baby comfortably warm without overheating.
