WASHING TIPS FOR OUR CASHMERE BLEND

Our cashmere blend (86% micromodal | 9% wool cashmere | The 5% elastane content makes it very lightweight and allows it to naturally mold to the skin. The blend of micromodal and cashmere provides ideal wearing properties: the fiber is gentle on the skin, breathable, and temperature-regulating. The fabric absorbs moisture well and quickly wicks it away. Care is very similar to wool care, with a few subtle differences.

Consider carefully whether your garment is actually soiled or merely has been worn

The cashmere content in the cashmere blend has self-cleaning and antibacterial properties. If the garment is not soiled, simply hang it outside in the fresh air.

Remove stains

If your garment has stains from diaper accidents, food, or similar, you can easily pre-treat them with wool fat soap before the actual wash cycle. Carefully rub the soap with water and lather the stain by hand. You will be surprised how easily the dirt—even if it has already dried—comes away from the fabric with the water-and-soap mixture. The dirt does not need to be completely rubbed out, as the fabric should be treated very gently. What matters is that the soiling comes out with the soap during the wash cycle. Do not leave the garment soaking in water; wash it in the washing machine immediately afterward.

 

Prefer a machine-washing cycle

Unlike boiled wool, cashmere should preferably be machine-washed rather than hand-washed. The temperature should be cold to a maximum of 30°C. If possible, choose a re-greasing wool detergent or cashmere detergent to preserve cashmere’s natural protective layer. 

 

Hang to dry

Because of the high proportion of micromodal in the cashmere blend, the fabric is very lightweight and dries very quickly when hung on a hanger. It does not lose its shape. If you do not have a hanger at hand, you can also hang your garment on a washing line. It is best to avoid clothespins, as they could damage the delicate fabric.
